Position Summary:

GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, is opening a combined polyisocyanurate (ISO) insulation and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) single-ply commercial roofing manufacturing facility in Cedar City, Utah. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for oversight and implementation of all human resources functions for a diverse client group of salaried and hourly employees.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Contribute to the business objectives by helping business leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes. Act as a liaison between the operations and HR to ensure HR services are aligned with the needs of the business and identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business.
• Provide advice and counsel to support the facility’s culture of leadership and coaching. Identify and resolve employee issues through regular contact with all employees.
• Champion the Talent Management Process and ensure timely, accurate and fair assessments of employee performance are conducted per the corporate guidelines.
• Ensure consistent application of corporate and plant policies as well as plant practices. Communicate HR programs and policies to plant team members, and address all related questions.
• Oversee the local Workers' Compensation program, oversee the unemployment claims process and management of relationship with company panel health care providers. Champion a culture of positive employee relations and the Union Avoidance Plan for the facility.
• Recruit candidates for all hourly and salaried positions using behavioral based interviewing techniques and the Company’s selection tools.
• Manage Environmental, Health and Safety facility reporting per corporate requirements and participate in the plants EH&S management system. Provide support to safety initiatives.
• Manage projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. Participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives and corporate, HR project teams and programs.

Requirements

Bachelors degree is required along with at least 3+ years of demonstrated Human Resources experience (e.g., manager, representative, generalist) and employee relations with knowledge of OSHA. Experience in manufacturing environment. Demonstrated intermediate change management and communication skills and understanding of employment law. Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Human Resources and PHR certification. Experience with presentation and training delivery is ideal.
