We are looking for a technically savvy Controls Systems Specialist who will be responsible for electrical safety and training, serve as a key problem solver for the plant’s control systems, and act as a lead for other instrumentation and electrical personnel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates superior written and verbal communication skills. 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Perform analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up/checkout/debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.
  •  Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and equipment modification.  
  •  Participate in process improvement efforts in support of plant goals.
  • Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness. 
  • Maintain all logic and PLC programs, install switches, and perform maintenance on the network as needed.
  •  Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.
  • Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations.
  • Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.
  • Partner with Controls Systems Engineer to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget. 

An Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Electronics or six years of demonstrated experience in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electronics.  Demonstrated process control experience in defining, designing, installing and maintaining control logic systems and equipment. Willingness to assume roles of team leader and team member when necessary. Advanced demonstrated communication skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electronics.  Demonstrated experience with SQL.

Ability to work in the U.S. without current/future need for GAFMC visa sponsorship.
